Double sink or single sink for two people?

Think about your daily routine.
Do you both stand in front of the mirror at the same time every morning? Then a double sink can offer a lot of extra comfort.
Does one person usually use the bathroom before the other? Then a second sink may add little value.
Also think about what you actually want to do at the same time. Sometimes a wide bathroom vanity with one sink and enough space around it is already practical enough.

You can temporarily place your things on the free part of the countertop during your morning routine. Afterwards, you can put them back in the drawers.
This gives you plenty of space and convenience without needing a second sink.
Which sink is easier to keep clean?
Cleaning can also play a part in your choice.
Two sinks simply mean that you have two sink areas to keep clean. Depending on the design, you may also have two taps and more edges or surfaces where water and soap can collect.
A single sink has fewer parts and can therefore be quicker to clean.
The difference may not be very big in practice, but if easy maintenance is important to you, it is worth considering.
Also look at the design of the sink and bathroom vanity. An integrated sink, for example, may be different to clean than separate countertop basins.
So look at the complete design, not just the number of sinks.
Also think about the mirror above the sink
Choosing one or two sinks also affects the space above them.
With a double sink, you usually want both people to be able to use the mirror comfortably. You can choose one wide mirror or two separate mirrors.

Compare these needs with the available space, and the best choice will usually become clear.
Do not automatically choose two sinks just because two people use the bathroom. And do not automatically choose one sink just because the bathroom is a little smaller.
